The President formally welcomed everyone to the third
Annual General Meeting of the Association.

President’s Opening Remarks
Started by mentioning with sadness the
passing of two of our dear colleagues who have contributed immensely to the
development of hockey in
Vince McBride and John Robinson.
The county association has organised a
number of events this season for North and

tournament at Sir John Deanes and the
The Men’s U15 &U18 English hockey plate and cup competitions were held at Bowdon.
Oxton hosted a round of the

The Cheshire Hockey Development group goes

Oxton Men’s 2nd team won the inaugural National 2nd X1 men’s trophy.
Brookland Ladies were finalists in the National Ladies Vase.
Kings School Macclesfield Boys were finalists in the U16 National schools cup.
Bowdon U18 team became National Champions again on their home ground.
Bowdon Hightown Ladies gained a bronze medal in the recent European Competition.
Cheshire U15 boys retained the National Champion title,congratulations to Anthony Kennon on this fantastic achievement.
All in all a great season for Cheshire Hockey.
As required by the Constitution, it is reported that Peter Langley was bought onto the Cheshire Hockey Association executive committee to serve in the role of Coaching and Development officer.

North Counties U21 Tournament –came joint second. 2 players nominated for North U21 trials with
Becky Read and Hanna Read going on to represent the North in the team which
played in the national U21 competition.
Northern Counties Championship tournament finished 3rd
in pool.

Traditional Boxing Day matches versus
U21s put up a good performance in the North Round of
the Junior Championships but lost to both Yorkshire and
The senior team won the preliminary round of Division
B and go down on the bank holiday weekend to play again.

c) Women’s
Competition Secretary
Separate Cup competitions run for 1st and
2nd teams and for 3rd/4th teams during the
first half of the season culminating in a finals day at
Plate competitions run for 1st and 2nd
teams knocked out of the Cup at the prelim or first round stage. Run at the same time as the Cup and culminating
in finals at Bowdon. Winnington won the
1st competition and Oxtonthe 2nd.
One day tournament for Club colts sides held at
Timperley in March. Bowdon beat Oxton in the final and as winners went on to
represent the County at a North Counties U19 tournament in April.
d) Men’s Competition Secretary
The separate Cup and Plate early rounds took place in
September and October, with the semi-finals in December and finals in January at Deeside. Brooklands were winners and Timperley
runners-up in the Cup and Bramhall winners with Neston South Wirral runners-up
in the Plate.

The NWHUA has reviewed and revised its rules.
Several changes to the personnel of the group.
The NWHUA fulfilled all its commitments to appoint
umpires were asked.
The year 2005 ids year of the umpire and the emphasis
is on Young umpire action groups.

2 umpires assessed and passed at Level 1and a further
52 have passed Level 1 theory for whom assessments are in hand. Individual successes:
Robbie White –passed as a Level 2 and is umpiring at
North Premier this season

Fixture live is up and running and a great success

Cheshire Hockey development group(CHDG).
