COACHING
As the Coaching Office my role changed this year from the
organisation of Coaching courses and Leadership Awards to monitoring pathways
for level 1 coaches, identifying possible level 2 candidates from this
monitoring and setting up a coaching database. Before this change I set up a
level one in June 2005 and a Leadership in July 2005.
This year there is a Level one planned for June.
No Level two has been planned although places are available
in Greater Manchester in June.
Those licensed at Level 1 will not be entitled to coach
independently. A level 2 or 3 coach is required on the pitch therefore as
well as increasing the numbers starting on their coaching journey it is
essential to progress our level ones on to Level two as quickly as possible.
To do this I have compiled a database of Level Ones, which
can then be used when Level two courses are set up.
To make sure Level Ones get the information that they need.
I sent out a questionnaire so I could update my information.
Within a framework of data protection we need to question
the need for 2 databases when England Hockey also have one.
I have worked with both the girls and boys county section on
coaching issues to ensure consistency and quality assurance.
Since Christmas I have been setting up my own business. It
has now developed in directions that could lead to a conflict of interested.
Therefore it is with regret that I have resigned as Coaching Office.
