Women Cheshire County Squads 2005 - 2006

 

Cheshire County Teams were represented in two competitions: Northern Counties U21 Tournament, Northern County Championship Tournament.  Although a team was selected for the Lancashire Invitation Tournament this was cancelled due to weather conditions.

 

The Cheshire clubs represented at county level this year were Crewe, Poynton, Timperley, Macclesfield, Sale, Deeside and Runcorn

 

Northern Counties Under 21 Tournament

 

Both the warm up tournament and the Northern Counties was held at Preston.

 

Under 21 Squad:

Catherine Forshaw, Sarah Hudson, Beth Newton,  Lucy Swe, Kim Jones, Laura Hunter, Danni Boothman,  Amy Gavin, Heather Welsh, Rachel Holmes, Nicole Haigh, Hannah Norman, Sasha Hately- Lowe (capt), Louise Bull, Kayleigh Humphries, Lizzie Chambo

 

Coach: Carol Savage  Manager Sarah Pinches

 

Sasha Hately –Lowe, Kayleigh Humphries and Sarah Hudson were selected to attend North of England U21 trials. 

 

Cheshire players who represented North of England U21 were Kayleigh Humphries and Becky Read although she was unable to play County Hockey this year.

 

Hanna Norman represented and captained the English University Team.

 

Northern Counties Championship Tournament

 

 

The Northern Counties Championship was held at Belle Vue.  Only two games were played – Lancashire (lost 5 – 0) and Durham (lost 2 -0) as Northumberland pulled out of the tournament at short notice. 

 

Senior 1^st  Squad: Rachel Small, Beth Millman, Helen Moffat, Sacha Hateley –Lowe, Sarah Pinches, Jenny Flowers,  Caroline Small (Captain), Katherine Richardson, Carol Savage(Player/Coach/Manager), Sam Maher, Alex Shaw, Jane Fylan, Hanna Norman

 

Unfortunately due to the U19’s National Finals taking place on the same weekend as the Northern Counties Championship no players from Poynton were represented at senior level.
