Cheshire Cup/Plate: 2005-06

In a moment of weakness (even madness) I allowed myself to be persuaded to organise this season’s Cheshire Cup/Plate. Accordingly, please find enclosed:

The draw for the whole competition(s).
The rules (please read them!).

Match sheets (home and way) – those of you with experience of the North Hockey League may spot an element plagiarism.

For those who do read the rules, some may notice an error in this year’s draw for the cup. This took place after the Cheshire AGM when I was out of the room checking on a certain football match taking place that night. Feeling totally depressed at the time (Liverpool were losing 3-0), I failed to notice that the seeded clubs were entered as Bowdon, Brooklands, Alderley and Timperley. Based on league positions at the end of season 2004-05, it should have been Bowdon, Brooklands, Oxton and Alderley. However, given that the draw has been published elsewhere, I have decided to let it stand. If nothing else, this shows I am unbiased (and Liverpool eventually won anyway, so who cares!). Finally, on a serious note, all rules will be strictly adhered to from now on.
