The Cheshire Hockey Development Group (CHDG) was established in
September 2004. It is a partnership of all groups responsible for the
development of hockey in the County of Cheshire (ie the area covered by
the boroughs of Chester, Congleton, Crewe and Nantwich, Ellesmere Port and
Neston, Macclesfield, Vale Royal and Warrington.
The CHDG is responsible for the preparation and implementation of the
hockey development plan for Cheshire (see PLAN
) and its objectives are:

To provide access for all to the sport of hockey, irrespective of
age, gender, disability, sexuality, religion, race, or colour.

To maximise and co-ordinate opportunities for all players, coaches
and match officials to fulfil his or her potential, protecting the
interests and well being of people at all times.

To promote and develop hockey through the provision of coaching,
equipment, facilities, match officials, publicity and finance.

To increase the number and quality of coaches, match officials and
players participating in Hockey in Cheshire.
The CHDG successfully bid for funding for hockey development in both
2004/05 and 2005/06. The latter resulting in the financial ability to
recruit a part-time hockey development officer initially for one year, to
co-ordinate the delivery of the Plan under the guidance of the CHDG.

One representative each from Cheshire Schools and Youth Hockey
Association and Cheshire Schoolgirls' Association

One representative each from the North West Hockey Umpires'
Association and the Cheshire Umpires' Association

England Hockey North Regional Development Manager (or nominee)

Two representatives from Cheshire Hockey Association

Representatives from each Club identified within the Cheshire Hockey
